So we tried a peruvian restaurant tonight.
Talk about culture shock! It was very loud, very packed and the waitstaff were racing around like crazy people. They were turning tables in 30 seconds. The seats were still warm when you sat down! Tom said it reminded him of Hong Kong!
Here's what we had. We started with a special cheesy shrimp appetiser served with a deep fried boiled potato on the side. I had Pollo Saltado, which is served (usually) over a couple of fries, but mine came over a hefty serving of them, with rice on the side, and boy was there a lot of soy in it. Tom had something similar but beef and with a fried egg on top, with "tacu tacu", rice and beans fried in lard by the taste of it! We finished with peruvian flan which was like a combination of tres leches cake and flan!
Thoroughly enjoyed the food. I wasn't as pleased with the sodium overload headache I woke up with Sunday morning though :(
