Life is a Minestrone !!

Red Legged Partridge.

Well last nights BBQ was a complete success, i did that very strange thing of cooking........!!
I'm not sure why men always do the cooking at BBQ's, and i'm not going to get into any sexist arguments here on blipfoto, needless to say Bev was waited on hand and foot.........
Finally stopped cooking at around 10pm, but sat chatting and drinking until some unearthly hour. Many many glasses of Bacardi were consumed as we put the world to rights, listened to some excellent music, and watched many shooting stars flash across the sky.
We started in glorious sunshine, were kept company by the Moon, Mars and Saturn. Long after the sun and moon had gone down the rest of the universe appeared, it was simply a stunning and glorious sight. Wish i hadn't sold that telescope 3 years ago.......Having said that how many evening a year do we get where you can sit outside all night and the sky is as clear as a bell.......???
Right, enough of last night, although i have been told i'm cooking again to tonight, so it might be another late one.............
Blip time, i have a new secret weapon namely Bev.........
I persuaded the lovely lady to accompany me up to thre Bere forest for a leisurley walk in the forest, but on this occasion i asked her if she would mind driving.
The idea being, that if she was driving i could have my trusty Canon ready to capture anything interesting along the way............And bish bash bosh, driving past an ungated entrance to a field i spotted a pair of Red Legged Partridges, they were to far apart for me to get the pair together, but this guy alone was worth the drive out.
I know the lighting isn't spectacular, what do the manuals say, always try to shoot your subjects either, early morning, or evening. Not Mid-day when the sun is directly overhead, well on this occasion i blame Mr Bacardi and Mr Coca Cola for not allowing out of bed until after 11 this morning.........(other rums and colas are available)........

We never got up to the Bere forest, we drove over to Portsdown Hill, parked the car and sat in the sunshine taking in the views over Portsmouth, across to the Isle Of Wight and beyond.............Breathtaking.

Alan Partridge..........NOT..........
