Optimism

Bad things do happen don’t they
and some of us just bury our heads
in the sand
and hope that they’ll go away.

Some of us think, ‘Oh well,
what will be will be’
and some of us try to do
something about it.

When I popped down to see the sea
others had been there
before me. Leading the way,
as it were.

The sky was already brightening
and I thought, ‘It’s not so bad,
is it? Worse things really do
happen at sea. They really do.’
