WFH....
....well, Glen Lyon, but you get the drift.
Collected the minibus from LCT and then rendezvoused with 15 excited Scouts, whisking them north to stunning Glen Lyon in highland Perthshire to meet-up with the others to form our camp of 53. The high pass in to the glen by Lochan na Lairige is my third favourite road in Scotland (behind the road to Applecross and the Drumbeg Glen Road). I haven't travelled it for a few years and I'm pleased to see the TIC building has been demolished. Frankly it was an inappropriate carbuncle which should never have received planning permission in this gorgeous part of the world.
Meggernie Scout Centre is a amazing facility, gifted to the movement by the current Laird, but formally owned by the Bullough's of Rhum (good friends of the Emperor of Japan). It's a cracking spot for camping, if a wee bit midgie, but this is Scotland.
