Invested...

Bethany is now a bonefide cub scout.  I must say I am rather chuffed.  When she went down the route of Brownies along with her friend from next door I was a wee bitty disappointed that she didn't find cubs first because I remember how the organisation shaped me.

Knowing that girls are more common sight in the traditional boys organisation, I thought she'd really like it.  It does slightly miff me that Guiding doesn't try and appeal more to boys but then that may be a more society thing than anything on the part of the organisation.

Turns out she does really like it and it helps that the troop is very active and very good.  Hope it adds to her fabric in the way it did me.
