Fragile Frost
Add a description…This morning I walked across town to work after Jan dropped me off.
It was a still, cold, crisp morning. The ground was frozen hard and there had been a lot of hoar frost in the trees but the sun was melting it away. By the water I found some reeds with these seedheads, left over from the autumn.
The frost on the sunlit side had melted away but it still survived on the shady side. A half-hour later all the frost had gone!
View it on large to see the intricacy of the ice webs.
