Egyptian Geese: drying wings!
Goslings Part 2 of 2...
I just back blipped yesterday's photo - that was part 1 of my gosling double-blip
This gosling is drying its wings after a swim; they're no longer "little wings" or "winglets", but are up to adult proportions (problematically so, as described yesterday: the wing muscles aren't really up to the job...).
Another glorious day and, again, the goslings seemed to be overheating; it is a little bit sad seeing them all lying down panting, but at least today they seemed to be swimming and seeking shade more.
I've not seen any "flappy-dances" this weekend which was a let down (they're epic!) but this was quite a fine display of wing span and featheriness! The right-hand gosling has just noticed a piece of bread at the other's feet...
I also visited the cootlings on Wandsworth Common: there are hardly any red or yellow tufty heads in sight as all of the cootlings have now grown to the point where they've lost most of their colour.
I've certainly enjoyed being out in this amazing weather even if the goslings seem less impressed by it.
