plan a: Em takes picture of me, I use it
reality: Em resists taking picture, when usually so happy to play with mummy's camera. She eventually concedes, takes pictures, 42 of them. Sadly not a useable one among them - well that's what you get for giving a 4 year old a camera on manual.
plan b: Em poses like a starfish, I use it.
reality: Not ideal, feels like a cop-out, but it's a solution and it's useable at least
