Meles meles

I'm really very fond of the badger; a strong, stocky animal with grey fur and a black-and-white stripey head. They have huge underground setts with many rooms that house an extended family, and keep them clean fastidiously, changing their bedding every day. According to the Wikipedia entry they have an extensive vocal repertoire; when threatened they emit deep growls. They whicker when in distress and emit a piercing scream when alarmed!
