Real Tea
An amazing discovery. In the lee of the railway embankment at Vauxhall, where the trains trundle in to Waterloo, is the brilliant Tea Room Theatre. You will find it in Vauxhall Park, round the corner from the city farm, complete with llamas.
Entering the tea rooms (please wait to be seated) you will see a riot of bright sunny colours - flowers, cakes, crockery, tea cosies and stuff.
Cast your eyes over the menu and you will note a multitude of real tea choices. Made with loose tea leaves. And the pots have knitted cosies with a strainer provided.
The food treats are a delight, too. My group had mushrooms on toast; poached eggs on toast and scrambled ditto. All were voted as excellent and the herb garnish was a stylish addition.
Then a guitarist came in. Classic FM was turned down and the serenade commenced.
In the evenings the tables are pushed back and it becomes a theatre.
A great find by our intrepid leader.
