Fred & Andy

Andy on the promenade at Sisowath Quay

Our bus journey is certainly very comfortable - reclining seats with loads of leg room, air con that works, wifi only very occasionally and no toilet but very comfortable in any case.  Its seems you get what you pay for here in Cambodia which certainly wasn't the case with transport in Laos.

We arrive in Phnom Penh at about 4pm and find our guest house which is just north or the real tourist area and only one street off the riverfront and Sisowath Quay.  We have a lovely room with double doors opening out onto what seems to be an exclusive roof terrace with great views over the city and the river ... result (although we do have to climb 96 steps to get to the room every time we come in but you can't have everything!)

We head out to explore and wander up and down the riverfront and have dinner in a nice local place.  We've heard it can be dodgy here with bag snatching so we are a bit more careful than usual but it seems completely non threatening as we walk around.  We wander back along the huge promenade along the riverfront ... unfortunately you can't see much of it as Andy sabotaged the photo :-)
