The One Love Project
My son has a friend called Louis. He is a really lovely guy and has spent a lot of time going back and forth and travelling around India.
On one of his trips he got involved with The One Love Project....a creative haven for underprivileged children. It's based in Pushkar.
Louis went out to Pushkar at Christmas. My son had been talking to him about his trip and Louis was wanting to do some football coaching with the children there.
Nick my son decided to ask around for old football shirts to send out.
I also got involved asking friends, who asked their friends and before we knew it we had a fair few shirts to send out.
Here are some of the children wearing them.
Aparently they went wild when the packages arrived. They have been having football coaching and playing matches and love their shirts. They even sent a recorded message to my son thanking him. It was wonderful.
A friend of a friends son who is 11 years old sorted out some of his shirts. I forwarded him the photos of the children wearing the shirts. He has written about it and taken the photos to school. He's really proud that he has helped other children who are not as fortunate as him. He was also really happy that he could see a child wearing his shirt.
I think it's so nice to see how happy and grateful these children are through other people's generosity.
It's not a photo I took today but it came through while I was away. I love their happy little faces.....so decided to share on blip.
