Gravity Canyon
I was up at 5am this morning to catch a plane to Wellington. Arriving at 7.30 I picked up a car and headed North to Mt Ruapehu. Sadly, the weather was crap and so the ½ day skiing was off. What to do?
I decided to slowly wend my way north, stopping at small towns and spots I wouldn't usually. One of these was "Gravity Canyon" a few km before Taihape (Gumboot capital of NZ) and about 15 minutes off the main road.
I nearly decided not to, just another bungy jump, but I am glad I did. Firstly, it's a deep river canyon and truly spectacular. And instead of the usual bungy jump, there is one of course, they have a zip line that is 1km long thru the canyon which looks insane. There's also a bridge swing. A spectacular place and worth a visit. Can you see the two people?
Then off to Ohakune and some work for the afternoon. Staying at "The Peaks" - might have a spa later ;-)
