New Library

The construction work on view here is the start of the new  Library and Museum planned for Dunfermline, due to be open in a couple of yeras. It is being built on to the existing site of the Dunfermline Library, the first of many that Dunfermline born Andrew Carnegie was to gift to the public across the world. It's easy to forget that sometimes history is on your doorstep. Carnegie was by no means perfect, some very dodgy skeletons in his closet. But he certainly saw the value of education and learning  - something that today's politicians, especially the idiots in government don't seem to understand
