Acre Mill...

…once a working mill, more recently admin offices for the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, and now it houses many of the outpatient departments for the hospital.
Roy ( of the large pupils ) had to go back today for a check-up on his eye, so we barely had time to glance at the eclipse through a convenient break in the cloud before we had to dash off for his appointment. It’s all high-tech in the new building, but in the process some of the more caring aspects of medicine have been lost. The sign-in process is all automated, sending you to various rooms at the correct time – all very efficient, but several of the waiting patients would have benefited from a reassuring word or two from a real person!

Anyway – all is well with the eye, so he just has to go back in 4 months for another check-up…phew!
