This amazing boy needs your help! Please read.....

Just under a year ago I gave up smoking after 28 years, and decided I wanted to be a bit fitter.  This year I decided to start running after a near death experience looking in the mirror and realising how much weight I had put on!  I needed so much inspiration because actually lazy does not come near it when it comes to exercise!

Lucky for me then, a young lad called Dylan Lewis, who I took to school on the school bus since his butt was the size of a postage stamp, happens to be the bravest, courageous, smiley, happiest young man I know and he never ceases to amaze me when I see him in school.  His face just beams and manages to say without words……..Bring It On!

You see this brave teenager who lives in Tarves was diagnosed with stage four Glioblastoma (GBM) – tumours which can be found on the brain or spinal cord – seven weeks before his birthday in June last year after suffering from severe headaches, sickness and fits.
Dylan, who is admitted to Edinburgh Sick Children’s Hospital every two weeks to undergo IV chemotherapy, wants to raise £5,000 for Children with Cancer and Leukaemia, Advice and Support for Parents (CCLASP), the Edinburgh-based charity which has been supporting Dylan and his family throughout his treatment.
Dylan who attends Meldrum Academy said: “The charity has done so much for us and they are nice and they are really down-to-earth people.  If I manage to raise over £5,000 it would be awesome and it would be an amazing feeling.”
This wee dude is amazing and as I said, he is always smiling; he has the most amazing outlook and he has faced his problems head on with the support of his family, friends and CCLASP.  Every time we meet at the academy he always has a smile for me and in fact he has on occasion, managed out of his chair for a hug! Bro-hug of course!
Anyway here’s the thing, this forty year old fatty, along with a few Meldrum Academy Colleagues, Wendy Findlayson and Alison Ross, who are both in their 60’s at least………. are running the Balmoral 10K, and participating in the Ythan Challenge and we would like to raise awareness for CCLASP.  So rather than collect sponsors we would like you to visit Dylans page at https://www.givey.com/cclaspdylanlewis2015 to see what it’s all about and maybe donate a little something!  We would love him to smash his target of £5000, and with your help he might just do that.

Dylan, I’m proud of you and you will inspire me up that hill in the Balmoral 10K.

Thank You
