Birthday Girl

Sunday 27 May 2012: Birthday Girl
My grandmother turned 82 & Hannah literally spent all afternoon trying to come up with cupcakes to celebrate. The difficulty was that Nanny is also Diabetic. Hannah ended up making these delicious, moist vanilla cupcakes with a reduced sugar chocolate icing (both entirely homemade...she refuses box mixes). Hannah puts so much effort & love into making special days extra special for those she loves.

On the drive to present the lightened-up sweets to the birthday girl, a thunderstorm was just wrapping up & the sun was beginning to return. Of course, this combination lead to a beautiful full-arc rainbow!! As I summed to my grandmother at the end of the evening, we brought her cupcakes, a rainbow, & lots of laughter!!
