Party-Free Party Conference

I had to attend the Lib Dem conference in Aberdeen for a work committment. Me, a yes head, an SNP member, a women for independence sec, sitting in the midst of the Lib Dem party faithful. I had to stop myself jumping up and confessing like some cliched AA meeting film scene. They looked like they needed a distraction.

The fringe meeting was worth attending though, widening access to higher education, our partners at Northfield Academy did RGU proud on the panel and it was interesting to see Aberdeen Uni's principal in action.

But oh michty, the atmosphere among the attendees was so very different to the political meets I've attended before, a wee bit quiet, a wee bit tired. As I arrived the lib Dems candidate for Gordon was finishing off her quick puff outside before striding back in in some metallic heeled stilettos that would do someone an injury if she perhaps were to place another foot wrong. (All the literature she puts through my door bemoans Alex Salmond, I've yet to read anything about what she'll actually do in terms of policies).

Squirrel watching afterwards. We saw one scuttle off, too fast for a picture.
