Goanna also known as a Goulds Monitor.

A family of these have lived near our shearing shed for years. Today a big one was sunning itself on the gravel.

When we arrived it was still for a couple of fotos and then very slowly it turned and disappeared down a narrow hole under the shearing shed which took a while as it had such a long tail.
