Gillies Hill Wander #savegillieshill

We have the fabulous Gillies Hill recreation area on our doorstep which is unfortunately once again under threat from quarrying. 

The community response and opposition to this is huge and is excellently co-ordinated by the Save Gillies Hill campaign. 

We all decided to head off into the woods this morning for a good explore with the highlight for the boys the stop for light snacks right at the foot of the giant redwood trees - which would be under threat if quarrying resumed.  

Red Squirrels live in this area but the boys though have found another weapon to fight off the quarry company.

The boys are showing the size of this giant monsters footprint which lives in the woods and I for one wouldn't want to be upsetting the home to something the size of this.
