Sandstone shadows

A glorious day today so we headed off to the Sandstone Trail a long (ish) distance footpath that stretches across a sandstone ridge in Cheshire, we have been meaning to investigate it for a while so it was nice to finally make it there. It was it has to be said rather excellent with great views out across the Cheshire plain.

It was probably not however the most photographically productive walk ever hence these shadows on a sandstone outcrop got chosen as I liked the interplay between light, shade and the small tree poking out of the vertical cliff face.
