What a difference a day makes.
As promised the bud i blipped a couple of days ago has bloomed and is the photo part of my blip today. I told the story of the camellia with the bud if you're interested here https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2025697705073839431
Another day of clearing cupboards and filling bags to go to the Charity shop, I should have done it years ago, there's far more space in this house than I thought!
I am just going to mention something that happened yesterday, but I am still shocked! I had an appointment at the bank in Chatham, and was going to do the food shopping on the way home. For those of you who don't know Chatham, it is in the Medway towns and is a very run down, poor town. I go as little as possible and when I do have to go I just do what I had to do and leave as quickly as I can. Yesterday the bank took much longer than expected and as I was going shopping I really needed to visit a toilet first. I dislike public toilets at the best of time but made my way towards the entrance of the public loos in the Pentagon shopping centre. Imagine my shock to see that we have to pay 20p to use the toilet in Chatham.I don't know when this happened, it could actually have been this way for some years and I only just used them, but what is even more bizarre is that they employ a lady to stand there and make sure no one jumps the barrier and avoids paying. Given that the minimum wage is £6:50 per hour it means that 32.5 people have to use the loo just to pay her wages and break even. I wonder if she is there in the week as well.
There was a sign that said the toilets were 'newly refurbished' and readers I have to say that if that is newly refurbished by Chatham standards, it is no wonder the town is run down!
I won't be going to Chatham for quite a while I hope and definitely won't be using their toilets.
