Newcastle life

Tinsley towers

Today we had a wander around Sheffield city centre and reminisced about when we used to live there (2008-2010). Its a lovely city and still feels like a second home even though we only lived there a few years.
Quite a few new shops and restaurants in town but still much unchanged in the past 5 years (except our favourite restaurant changed its name from pho68 to Saigon68). I took quite a few photos of the lovely buildings such as the town hall, wintergardens and cathedral but ended up blipping this nostalgic plate. After graduating, our first jobs were in Rotherham and we moved there and were very fond of the place. Whenever we went away, we always recognised the Tinsley cooling towers on our arrival home. I was sad to see such iconic landmarks be blown up in 2008. I always regretted not going to witness the demolition (but it was at 3am and we didn't have a car to get there). Seeing the plate for sale today reminded me of those happy Rotherham days :)
