This is the Hoy Monument

It sits on top of St . Catherines down it is 72ft high and made of local stone.
The only way to get to it is walking.
My daughter and sister walked from Whitwell to Shorwell today over downs and along the coast it was a pretty hard walk but very pretty, it says it was 12 miles but feel it was more 15 miles but enjoyed it and pleased we achieved it.
