Victor's 1959
I had heard a radio personality tell that she had eaten the best-ever Cubana Sandwich at a Minneapolis restaurant called Victor's 1959. Don is a big fan of Cuban sandwiches so I thought we should check it out. Braving a predicted snow storm, our friends Gary and Joyce joined us for the drive in for lunch. This is a VERY small, very old (by American standards) authentic Cuban restaurant in South Minneapolis. We had a wait of about 45 minutes to get a table. As you can see, most have to wait outside because there is no room inside. The place is very colorful with a fun atmosphere. Unfortunately we were not overly excited by the food. We decided, however, that it was worth the trip to experience a new place. We stopped on our way home at Crème Cafe for Sonny's ice cream. The best!
The snow started just as we drove into Watertown, about 4:30, rather than the predicted 11:00 am. Hopefully it won't last long.
