Feeling Drained
A busy day in the garden meant another trip to the waste disposal site this afternoon. On the way back I noticed that the demolition contractors had removed the gable wall of the old Elland swimming pool enabling passers-by to look through the fence and see right into the former pool area.
The plug was pulled on110 year-old swimming baths in 2011 because of structural problems and campaigns to save the pool were unsuccessful due to the high cost of repair.
Harriet learned to swim at this pool and we have had some great times here. I once fractured two ribs on the edge of the pool.
I suppose this photo would be more appropriate for derelict Thursday, but there might not be much of the building left by mid-week.
