Wedding Day

Our wedding day in Intercontinental Hotel Tokyo Bay in Tokyo.

Long time of preparing for this day.  We chose the venue 11 months ago last April.  Many things had to be discussed and organized between us and the wedding staff before I moved to New York last January.  After that, much of the preparation had to be done by my wife while I could only support her by creating materials (i.e. table tags, welcome brochure with seating plan & menu, introduction video, other demonstrations etc) as well as taking care of my side's invitees until the last moment.  I'm proud of my wife who has done a tremendous job to make this event real and enjoyable.

Our day started rather at a normal time in the morning since the wedding was in the afternoon.
Prior to the wedding ceremony, we had some special photos taken by ourselves and with our relatives (although not ready yet).
Wedding ceremony was done similar to any western country.  Invitees varied from colleagues (inc supervisors), friends from high school, university (inc professor) and relatives.

Followed by a wedding reception where this photo was taken (by someone among the crowd, thank you!  By the way, Mt Fuji & ourselves in the outfit we used to climb is decorated on top the cake).
Starting with my opening speech and speeches from our main guests (usually supervisors or close friends.  Our's was the former) and a toast made by my professor I used to study from in uni.
Some more demonstrations follow such as wedding cake cut, costume change, demonstrations by friends (inc a lovely video message sent from Scotland!) while all of the attendees would take turns coming to celebrate the groom and bride.
Finally concluded by bride's thank you letter to her family, groom's father's speech and the groom's speech.

I was very happy to see the invitees who seemed to enjoy it.

The day wasn't over yet.  Next in the evening follows a more informal party with only friends (about 60).  Quiz, prizes and simply more chatting and drinking.

The day was over and was able to rest a little before midnight.

Great day!
