Intrigue

This is not the name of the sculpture I came across this evening on a late run during a lull in the heavy rain New Plymouth is enjoying. I feel intrigued by the similarity between the sculpture by Filipe Tohi, a photo of which I posted last week , and this piece.

I was running in the local streets near the flat we are staying in while I do a locum for the DHB, and on a corner, outside the property and between their fence and the footpath was this sculpture. There are aspects of the piece that remind me of The Eyes of the Gods, especially the lines which suggest traditional Pasifika lashings. 

Howevr, I can't find anything to confirm or refute my speculation.
