Farewell my lovelies
In the grey, damp, cold and windy days of January to March they have raised the spirits and been a joy to behold. Hellebores. Still they flower in the slowly strengthening sun. But soon they will loose their flowers and begin to grow new foliage to gather the strength needed to delight us in 2016. Thank you and adieu.
But wait. All is not yet over. One more Helleborian thrill is yet to come. The wild plants of Helleborus viridis (Green Hellebore) are even now sending up their leaves. Unlike their garden cousins leaves come before flowers. They grow in several places in Arnside / Silverdale. You need to know where to look. And Knottman does. So rest assured before long blippers will admire the green flowers to round off the Hellebore year.
