Wear The Fox Hat Charles ....

A little bit of an emergency blip foto as I forgot to take the one I was going to take .. luckily mum provided an amusing one down the Dyn tonight!

Well what a day. One of the greatest sporting days ever and certainly the greatest in the 5N/ 6N history. And to think there was nothing to say what was going to happen at half time in the Wales v Italy game. We were just 13-12 up and it really wasn't looking like we were going to overhaul the points difference we required to put any pressure on Ireland and England.

I have no idea what Gatland said at half time, but it lit the touch paper on a completely bonkers afternoon of rugby. Wales begun to run in tries from everywhere .. We finished the 61-20 .. with a last second try by Italy to put a sting in the tail of the game .. how much would it matter .. in the end .. not that much.

Ireland did a number of Scotland and won 40-10 .. I have no idea where Scotland go from this Six Nations .. abject barely covers them.

Finally it was over to England who had to win by 27 points to be crowned champions.

France had decided to put their dancing shoes on and run the ball from everywhere. The game ended with a scrum to England which if they scored from would have secured the championship. They lost the ball to a penalty. France must have made the whole of Ireland scream Nooooo! When they decided to run it from behind their posts .. finally the only bit of common sense left in the day prevailed and they kicked it dead. Ireland were worthy champions, but there was only a 10 point score difference separating the top three teams in the championship.

There were 221 and 27 tries in the day .. utterly breathtaking!

We went down the Dyn to calm the nerves ... mum regaled the table with Dad's banned joke, that he does at every talk ... It was the last thing I expected the hear .. but then it was in keeping with the entire day!
