Splash landing!

I wish they would give me a little bit more notice of when they are going to splash land in front of me.

Often they do.
There's usually the sound of honking before they are seen.
Maybe they did honk.

I was engrossed possibly, in taking pictures of Mr and Mrs Duck and their six little ducklings close by the waters edge, as these two great specimens landed right in front of me.

You can see in the top right of the picture the splash of the other bird. They nearly capsized Mr Duck who wasn't ready for them either.

Landing manouevres complete, they then came right over and stared right at me, almost at my feet, demanding to know where the bread was. There was no one else around on the canal fortunately, to hear me apologise to them in the most sincerest terms and to inform them that I did not have any bread.

I know how it sounds, but you didn't see they way they looked at me... bit thuggish like.
The pair of them.
Ready to pounce any minute.
Poised they were.
They were!

Might it be a little cooler tomorrow...?

PS: My head cold has at last turned a corner and we are now on the home straights. Still a bit ropey around the edges but infinitely better than I was. : - )
