New Ice, Old Ice

With these cold nights the ice forms easily in the small beck nearby. The stream has sunk slightly since the newest ice formed so it’s a cm or so above the water.
You can see here the crystalline nature of the ice in some of the slightly older ice.
The scale is hard to see but it’s about 60 cm, 2 ft, from side to side of the image.
