Rhododendron perfection

A lovely morning turned into a cold afternoon with a biting wind. Crawling about in the undergrowth looking for accession numbers and labels isn't a great way of keeping warm either!

Couldn't resist the huge blooms of Rhododendron macabeanum, a large shrub with trusses of pale yellow flowers. A native of Assam and Manipur in NE India, we have quite a few in the garden and most are flowering now!
