Technicolour Tuesday: High-Tech Dentistry

I spent more than 4 hours at the dentist today.  Thank goodness he wasn't working in my mouth all that time!!  It was bad enough, though, having two crowns replaced.  I asked if I could watch and photograph the computerized process of making dental crowns.  They were happy to let me go into the lab.  The impression he had taken was scanned from every possible angle and loaded into the computer.  The computer then "built" the crown on the screen.  That information was sent to a "mill", like a very fine lathe.  A solid porcelain cube was placed in the mill and two tiny drills cut a perfect fitting crown out of the porcelain in about 15 minutes.  Technology fascinates me!!
My blip today is of one of the finished products held by the dental assistant in her hot pink glove.  I thought the glove made it a suitable entry for TechnicolourTuesday.  ;-)

Almost forgot to say thanks to TMLHereandThere for suggesting this fun challenge.
