This morning IMPACT Cambodia send an update highlighting the importance of screening for and treating hearing impairments;


"Makara a 12 years old boy who lives in Kandal village , Rolous commune, Kandal province, has come to have his ear checked at Chey Chumnas Refferal Hospital .This boy has suffered from Chronical Otitis Media sice he was a baby but he just experienced pain recently ( 4-5 month ).When he was four , there was wetness in his ear and his mother went to small shop in the village to buy medicine for him and Makara got better for quite sometimes. A few year later , he could barely focus on his studies because his left ear was constantly running and he spent most of the time wipe it out. Makara's father was very worried that Makara could not study well. He decided to take Makara to Chey Chumnas Referral hospital to have his ear treated by IMPACT surgical team. The team vacuumed the pus from Makara's ear and he will have his ear operated by IMPACT surgical team yesterday, March 24, 2015"
