Bakewell Methodist Junior School
This morning I had the lovely job of handing out Jubilee coins (provided by the council) to the children at BMJS.
It's a lovely school in a super location and after handing out the coins, one little lad put his hand up and asked 'how much did they cost?'.
I wasn't expecting that so I told him 'A million pounds!'.
Whilst not strictly true it was great to see the look on the children's faces as their mouths dropped open.
Luckily the head teacher stepped in and said it wasn't important what they cost but what they were worth.
Afterwards myself and John the town clerk had a cup of coffee in the staff room, a place that in the past filled me with dread.
