Think, try, share

Stop!

I was explaining depth of field to my daughter Lois this evening. At 11 this is one of her first shots on a DSLR. She should cherish it.

She took the Nikon and started taking shots of me. She had none of the fear that restricted me.

This is the one we both liked of Lois trying to focus on my hand. Lois now sees, like me, how challenging a shallow depth of field plane when combined with low light and manual focus can be.

But then it is the learning that makes the achievement worth while.

I am happy because she wants to learn with me. In fact I am very happy.
