School's out.
I'm all for modern art installations, when they are pleasing on the eye, but this one from Antonio O'Connell has been hanging about since last year's Festival and is tired looking. O'Connell, a Mexican artist, 'confronts concepts relating to the pragmatic and ontological purposes of space and form through architectural interventions. His work embodies the viral aspect of a decaying capitalist system, with an ironic view of construction traditions in both his country of origin - a developing country - and the iconic and spectacular cityscapes of the developed world.' Oh really Antonio? Well we've seen enough now - it looks like a spring clean that has been going on for too long.
