Taliesin West - Chinese Theatre Tiles

Thursday was discount day so we save a couple of dollars per entry by coming today.
Mr. Wright was intrigued by Chinese and Japanese styles. He obtained a group of Chinese Theatre Tiles (all broken in pieces) that he had his apprentices piece back together. Then they were place around the property in the cement walls as artistic focal points. Unfortunately neither he nor his apprentices knew the proper glue medium to use for the ceramic ware and the dry climate. Being outside has put considerable wear on the 13 cm (six in) thick tiles. Even so, they are marvelous to view! I'll post more on my blipfolio.
