Yes  Sir!   I was there in  THE 1958 - 60 campaign at Harrogate -- (Ed. Corps Army Apprentice School  Instructor).Trained to kill but didn't!. Although some squaddiies were  bored to death by me I was never charged.
Yes, I can say I did my bit and as we old soldiers say' "It didn't do me any harm"  or did it --I can't remember the registration number of my car but a soldier's recruitment uniform in the street draws me to attention and I bark----23588845 Sgt Binning , Sir!
Yes they stole my mind and still have a part of it. And I walk straighter when I see the garb.
