Sunset shines through
Having set myself up beautifully on a craggy outcrop right on the West coast of Anglesey for a wide open shot of the sea and sky and sun - a huge hailstorm snuck up behind me and that was that. Gone. Obliterated all signs of light and against my hopeful (but ultimately foolish) judgement I pelted back to my car. Desperately hoping to get there before it really hammered down. There was no let up. And the sky was thick and grey and black.
With some despondency I began driving back towards the main road and headed home.
Within 10 minutes the storm cell blew through, grey clouds evaporated, the sky cleared, and I was treated to a fantastic view of the sun rapidly making its descent.
Rapid reverse and back to the coast I trundled.
I pulled into the next sandy car park, legged it out onto the beach and was greeted with a far better view than I'd had before.
I took something like 20 pictures over the next hour, mostly beautiful expanses of empty beach littered with seaweed, sandwaves, and stones, but this one I like because it captures the drama of what had passed before, and the landscape around.
So sun down and home I came.
Damp.
Chilly
And at peace.
