Call it what you will

This is a growth of some sort on one of the hedge trees. I don't I don't think it is a gall. Maybe just a strange way it has branched and then been cut off many years ago.. It makes a talking piece anyway.
It started off very misty this morning but this afternoon the sun is out. Cool breeze.
Thank you to everybody who starred and commented on yesterday's daffodil. I am waiting for more to open and I think there are some nice little chionodoxa on the way also.
