Walk on by
Most people walk on by as they pass Constantine the Great on their way to York Minster. It's the spot where he was proclaimed Roman Emperor in AD 306.
In all honesty I might have done the same if the "blip radar" wasn't still functioning, In all honesty I am surprised anything was functioning...
Mrs Smith had suggested I headed off for a tour of the real ale pubs of York while she looked after the kids. So for the real ale fans out there who may be interested.....Start at Mickelgate and pop into Brigantes ( CAMRA pub of the year) for a pint of "Guzzler" before walking around the City wall to The Minster and into the Three Legged Mare (otherwise known as the Wonkey Donkey) for a "Centurions Ghost" before wandering down the Stonegate to The Yorkshire Terrier for a pint of...."Yorkshire Terrier" and then along to The Shambles for another "Guzzler" at The Last Drop.
It's hard to think of another City that takes it's ale brewing so seriously.
Now, like Constantine, I need to sit down.
