Dangerous Building. Do Not Enter.

So says a notice by the fine round-headed doorway of the ruined church in Stow. But we did, and survived to tell the tale blip the result.

The remains are mainly dated from the C17, the belfrey added in 1794, standing on the site of a C13 church dedicated to St Mary. By 1873 it was deemed unsuitable and a new church was built further south and the last service in the old church was on Boxing Day 1875.
