We arrived back in Iceland to good weather (for Iceland!). It was not snowing, and the wind was not blowing at gale force. There was still lots of snow on the mountain that we have to cross to get home. Our friend who picked us up at the airport (with our car) had the car washed and polished, and she also gave us a bag of groceries, a very nice gesture as we were tired from the long flight and not in the mood for grocery shopping. At home everything was fine. I was struck by the difference between the countries - when we arrive in South Africa after having been away for months, the house is always inhabited by lots of spiders and it is also dusty, even if someone had been in to clean it. In Iceland there are no spiders and no dust to be seen in the house, without it been cleaned.
