Masthead Gull

I spent the afternoon at my sister's in Burnham-on-Crouch dealing with admin resulting from the sale of the family home.

It was nearly sunset when I left and I stopped off at Burnham Yacht Harbour. The light was gorgeous. This gull was catching the final rays on top of the mast of a yacht laid up in the yard.

I went for a short walk along the sea wall and was delighted to see a barn owl hunting. It's fantastic to be be able to shoot one free and outside rather than from the confines of a hide as I have done in the past. Shame I wasn't near enough for Blipworthy pics. :(
