VENICE!

Rained all night and most of the day…(thanks goodness we finished painting the boat!) so I spent some time in the studio and decided an indoor blip was in order…. 

A Venice collage…. have been reading some of our good sized collection of Donna Leon mystery novels here this week,-they are really fun and one learns so much about Venice.  I like her essays too - she’s a Handel opera lover!   There are some gelli prints of a Venice stencil map, a couple postcards from my “favorites” collection on my studio wall (A Turner watercolor and my favortite 16th C.Venetian painter, Veronese).  and in the middle, a little acrylic painting of mine that is the cover to a little book of photos and drawings of Venice…and a distressed gold frame...

And why this, today?
Well, last year for spring break we took our oldest grandson Niklas, at age 11 to NYC for a week - we had a fabulous time, came home and asked the next grandchild to turn 11, Tatum where she would like to go.   “Venice” says she, without missing a beat.   Venice?!!  We can’t go to Venice for a week..that’s crazy!  Well after some brief thoughts of other places, we thot why not? And we are going to Venice in April for Spring Break with Tatum!     It will be our 4th time…. we are in love with Venice….islands, boats, water, no cars, great art and music, seafood, espresso, gelati,  ……we’re all getting excited….


And I just now saw the exciting news from Blipcentral that blip has a future!  Yea!  New logo?
