Colorful Dancers
We arrived in Pátzcuaro this afternoon to meet up with our condo-mates and their two friends before driving home tomorrow. They were planning on going to see a Folkloric Dance performance and we decided to tag along. Strange as it seems, they were a group of young dancers from San Diego who were performing traditional Mexican dances on a stage in the heart of colonial Mexico. It was beautiful to watch and fun to photograph, especially the colorfully swirling dresses of the "wedding" number (which I think were mostly local dancers). Certainly took us back to the days of watching our daughter's ballet recitals, especially at the end of the show when the house lights came up and we saw the majority of the audience were family members waving at those locals standing on the stage.
