The web of a Nursery Spider

This dense and thick spiders web is itself a self contained nursery, designed to protect the young Nursery Spider when it hatches. It’s an awesome creation, so much work, so dense, so well protected, so well attached to the leaves and twigs.

Can’t say I’ve seen a Nursery spider yet, but they are nocturnal so if I go out at night I should see it sitting on top it’s ‘nursery’. Maybe another blip one day ...or night actually!

Took this on a short stroll around the lagoon next to the house late afternoon today.
