New York Trip
On Tuesday the chorus went to New York to see The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. We left school around one in the afternoon and actually got to New York around 5:30. On the way there we stopped at McDonalds in New Jersey to eat. We went in and out pretty quick which was good because it gave us more time to do other things when we got there. When we arrived at our destination we had about an hour until the theatre would allow us to come in. There was an I heart New York gift store next to the theatre so we all made our way in place to look around. They had a lot of shirts, cups, bags, hats, and a various amount of other things. Most of them which had i heart New York printed on them. Around 6:30 we went into the line to get into the theatre, we got through quick since I was the first one in the line. We had to wait in the lobby for a little before we could take our seats. Our seats were in the middle infront of the stage but up a few rows. When the show began the lights went out. The opening scene was interesting with the chandelier when they uncovered it and it went flying up into the air. I jumped out of my seat a few times and was almost blinded by the light from the fire. The whole show was good I think everyone fit their roles well and did a great job. My favorite character was the Phantom. He did a great job and was interesting to watch. He always kept you on his feet not knowing where he was when he was talking during some parts. At the end of the show we had to wait outside for a little for our bus to get there. While we were waiting people were taking selfies and group pictures. We decided to get a picture of the seniors who went. There were only five of us but it was still a good time and I think the picture turned out nice. I was glad to share this wonderful experience with my friends. I think it brought us closer together. New York is a great place to be with a lot of beautiful sights. I'd go back and do it again any day if I could and I would tell people they should go and experience it for themselves. The price of some of the things are expensive, but every penny that was put into this trip was well worth it.
